The second annual Ad Classic charity golf tournament is only a day away!
For those travelling on the bus:
Transportation will depart from School Editorial promptly at 10:00 am (78 Sullivan St, - Link).
The bus will arrive at 09:30 am, but different from last year, a handheld lunch and complimentary non-alcoholic drinks will be available upon arrival at Osprey valley. These can be enjoyed at that point or saved in your cart for later. In addition to that snack there will also be a slider station that will be accessible from different holes throughout the day - no one’s going home hungry!
Departure is at 10:00 am sharp!
Please ensure punctuality to avoid costly Uber rides to Osprey.
We anticipate arrival at TPC Osprey Valley between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.
Upon Arrival:
Please proceed to our designated registration area which will be inside the club house this year, please enter the main door and head to the right to the Doug Carrick lounge. Following check-in, participants are invited to utilize the practice facility, enjoy additional refreshments, or peruse the numerous items generously donated for our silent auction! All proceeds will contribute to the donation to Sick Kids.
Club Rentals
For those of you renting clubs, Osprey will have them on your carts if you RSVP’d with our questionnaire. If you missed it, we’ll be sure to help you out before the start of the tournament.
Golf Tournament: Tee off 1pm
The tournament will feature a traditional shotgun 4-person scramble format. What does that mean exactly?
1. Team Format:
4 players. Everyone on the team plays each hole together.
2. Tee Shots:
All team members tee off on each hole.
3. Selecting the Best Shot:
The team chooses the best shot among the group (based on lie, distance, etc.). All players then move their balls to that spot to hit their next shot from there.
4. Continue Until Holed:
This process continues until the ball is holed out - no gimmies and no mulligans. So for every shot, the team selects the best one and everyone plays from there.
5. One Score Per Hole
Only one team score is recorded for each hole — the total number of shots it took to complete the hole using this format.
6. ***For pace of play***
If your group is scoring higher than a double bogey please pick up your balls and move onto the next hole. Nobody likes a slow round!
During your round, there will be competitions for Men’s longest drive, Women’s longest drive, and closest to the pin, (irrespective of gender).
Post Golf:
Following the round, we will gather for complimentary dinner and beverages in the Doug Carrick lounge and event space in the main clubhouse. While the meal is provided, alcoholic beverages are not included. All the same as last years event.
The bus back downtown will leave Osprey Valley at 9:00pm.
Please note that outside alcohol is strictly prohibited at the golf course but is welcome on the bus!

⛳ Format: A fun, all-inclusive scramble - welcoming golfers of all skill levels!
New for 2025: Not a golfer? No problem! This year, we’re introducing non-golf options for those who’d like to join in without hitting the course. Stay tuned for more details!

Transportation Options: We’re considering adding a second bus with a west-end pick-up location, depending on demand. Let us know if you’re interested! For the return trip, we’re exploring staggered departure - likely with two departure times to a central location, so those who want to enjoy the 19th hole a little longer can do so.
For Those Taking the Bus:
🚌 Departure: The bus leaves promptly at 10:30 AM from School Edit (78 Sullivan St). Please arrive by 10:00 AM.
🍽️ Lunch: Last year, we provided grab-and-go lunches at pick-up; this year, we’re planning to have boxed meals ready at the course. More details to come!
📍 Arrival: Expect to reach TPC Osprey Valley between 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
🚍 Second Bus Pickup: We’ll confirm details if there’s enough demand.

Golf Tournament Format
The tournament follows a shotgun 4-person scramble format:
- Each team selects the best ball and plays their next shot from that spot.
- Off the green: Players must play within a scorecard’s length of the ball’s position.
- On the green: Players must play within a putter’s head of the previous player’s mark.📱 Live Scoring: We’ll be using the Golf Genius app for real-time leaderboard updates. Enter your team’s score after each hole and follow the action live!
On-Course Competitions:
🏆 Men’s Longest Drive
🏆 Women’s Longest Drive
🏆 Closest to the Pin (open to all participants)
Post-Golf Celebration: After your round, join us at the Doug Carrick Lounge in the brand-new clubhouse for a complimentary BBQ and drinks. Last year’s menu featured smoked brisket, fresh salads, and a vegetarian option—expect something just as delicious this year! Please note: While the meal is complimentary, alcoholic beverages are not included. During the celebration, we’ll also wrap up the silent auction and announce the winners.
Important Reminders:
🚫 Outside alcohol is prohibited on the golf course, but you’re welcome to bring your own on the bus.

We had such a great time last year that we couldn't resist doing it again!
Registration officially opens on April 1st at 10 AM (EST).
However, as a thank-you to those who supported us last year, we're offering early access to a limited number of spots starting March 25th. Details on both will be shared in the coming weeks.
We're excited to return to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, the host of the 2025 RBC Canadian Open, where we'll be playing The Hoot—a course known for its vast yet playable waste bunkers and wide fairways, offering an enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities.

Golf Tournament:

• Selecting the best ball and playing all shots from that spot.
• For shots off the green, each player must play within a scorecard's distance of where the ball came to rest.
• For shots on the green, each player must play within a putter’s head of where the ball came to rest, often aided by a mark left close to the ball's position.
• We will utilize the Golf Genius live scoring app for real-time score tracking (LINK). Simply enter your group’s score after completing each hole. The app will update all teams in real-time, displaying leaders both within the app and at the clubhouse. All teams will commence and conclude play simultaneously, with the lowest score emerging victorious.
During your round, there will be competitions for Men’s longest drive, Women’s longest drive, and closest to the pin, irrespective of gender.
Post Golf:
Following the round, we will gather for a complimentary BBQ and beverages in the Doug Carrick lounge and event space in the (new) main clubhouse. We're thrilled to bring together professionals from the advertising industry for a day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and most importantly, giving back to the community. This year, our hearts are set on supporting Sick Kids Hospital, a beacon of hope for countless children and families.
Join us on Thursday, May 30th, at 1 pm for a traditional shotgun scramble at the picturesque Osprey Valley Heathlands course. It promises to be a day filled with memorable moments and meaningful contributions.

Registration is open at $500 per person or $2000 per foursome. With your entry, you'll not only secure your spot in the tournament but also indulge in a luxurious journey to and from Osprey Valley via our exclusive chartered buses. To ensure convenience and safety, we'll have two buses—one for pickups in the east and another in the west. Plus, we'll keep you fuelled with delectable snacks during the ride.
Once we arrive, your registration covers green fees with a cart, a sumptuous post-round BBQ banquet, exciting giveaways, and the chance to participate in a silent auction. And let's not forget about the coveted trophy awaiting the triumphant foursome, which will proudly display their names for years to come, and be returned for the next Ad Classic in 2025.
While we encourage everyone to take advantage of our transportation for a hassle-free experience, we understand if you prefer to travel independently or depart before the BBQ. Please note, however, that the registration fee remains unchanged regardless of your choice.
